DroneHub GAE has started a pilot concerning the recording of images of the megalithic tombs, called hunebedden, by means of drones. On the website ditisdrenthe.nl, the hunebedden in Loon, Drouwen and Borger can be viewed from different angles. It is currently explored whether it is possible to view all hunebedden of Drenthe in virtual reality.
In collaboration with the Air Traffic Control the Netherlands and Groningen Airport Eelde (GAE), DroneHub GAE is exploring how to fully integrate drones into regular air traffic. The objective here is to succeed in detecting drones by radar. Groningen Airport Eelde offers the perfect airspace to take up this challenge.
On an experimental farm in Valthermond, research is being done into specific drone applications for precision farming. With this research they want to find out how new technology and innovation can contribute to keep farming competitive and make it more sustainable.
