Self-driving minibus on view during Sustainability Day in Loppersum

On Tuesday, 10 October, it will be national Sustainability Day (Dag van de Duurzaamheid). On this day, there will also be a lot of activities regarding sustainability in the municipality of Loppersum. As of this day, there will be experiments with a self-driving minibus as well.

The self-driving minibus is an experiment conducted by the province of Groningen, and 5Groningen is a program run by the Groningen Economic Board. Tests will be done with the transmission of camera images as part of the project of driving the bus by remote control, without a driver. The bus will be driving on a closed-off piece of road following the Parallelweg in Loppersum, and it will drive 4 to 6 hours a day, three days a week (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday).

Sustainability Platform

Sustainability Day (Dag van de Duurzaamheid) will be concluded by a meeting of the Sustainability Platform (Platform Duurzaamheid) of the municipality of Loppersum. During this meeting, visitors will be able to exchange ideas about sustainability and obtain information and inspiration.
