State Secretary Mona Keijzer for Economic Affairs and Climate Policy visited a number of Groningen companies and organisations specialised in ICT, cyber security and telecom, last 9 April.
Her visit – at the invitation of Provincial Executive Member Patrick Brouns – was intended to showcase how academic institutions, the business community and the government are currently joining forces in Groningen in order to develop new technological applications and solutions to societal challenges. The State Secretary also attended a number of demonstrations by the 5Groningen project, including a self-driving small bus and a drone for farmers. Keijzer emphasised the importance of fast internet in relation to the actual implementation of these new technologies.
