Wednesday afternoon 20 June, his Majesty King Willem-Alexander opened the railway connection Groningen-Eemshaven at the new railway station Eemshaven. As part of the festivities, Autonoom Vervoer Noord-Nederland offered a demonstration of an autonomous shuttle bus, which was given a brand new green coating for the occasion. The public’s response was overwhelmingly enthusiastic. A few dozen people even seized the opportunity to go for a ride in the tiny bus.
